Case Study: Supplier Price Monitoring for iPodrom

Results

  • Reduced processing time for supplier price lists from 10 hours to 15–20 minutes per run (for 1,000 products). This allows the iPodrom team to quickly identify the lowest purchase price and calculate the selling price for repricing.
  • Expanded product range: The team can now work with a larger number of products without hiring additional staff.
  • Regularly updated competitor pricing data: Daily monitoring of competitors’ offers on Hotline has been automated.

Customer Background

iPodrom is a Ukrainian reseller that started its operations in 2014. Initially, the company specialized in selling Apple products. Over time, they expanded their assortment from smartphones and laptops to other popular product categories in Ukraine, including drones, charging stations, and Starlink devices. The company’s sales channels include their own online store and product listings on the Hotline price aggregator.

Pricing Challenges — Supplier Price Analysis

iPodrom works with 24 suppliers who:

  • provide access to up-to-date purchase prices via Google Sheets, or
  • send price lists in Excel files to the iPodrom manager by email or Telegram.

For iPodrom, analyzing supplier prices is a strategic task, as the purchase price has the greatest impact on the final offer to the customer.

“This needs to be done regularly: we must always offer the customer the best price available from our suppliers, taking into account our markup.”
– Oleksiy, Category Manager at iPodrom

Previously, analyzing price lists took hours of work each week. The iPodrom commercial department consists of two managers, one of whom is responsible for price monitoring and product repricing. Every other day, the manager would explore data in dozens of Google Sheets, Excel files, and Telegram messages. Price lists could contain both new prices and new products. To find the best purchase price, the manager had to manually review each price list, locate a specific product, compare offers, and select the lowest price among all options — then repeat this process for hundreds of SKUs.

“Manually processing supplier price lists was not only exhausting and resource-intensive — it held back our growth. Without automation, we couldn’t expand our assortment, launch new categories, or respond quickly to market changes.”
– Oleksiy, Category Manager at iPodrom

The company began searching for a solution that would reduce the amount of routine work for managers and provide them with a tool to quickly and accurately analyze supplier price lists. The recommendation to use Pricer24 came unexpectedly from a competitor who was already using our platform.

iPodrom’s Tasks

  • Rapidly identify the best purchase prices across 24 suppliers
  • Reduce losses caused by human error in manual price analysis
  • Free up managers’ time to focus on expanding the product assortment
  • Accelerate decision-making for timely product repricing
  • Enable swift and accurate monitoring of competitors’ prices on Hotline

How Pricer24 Helped iPodrom Optimize Supplier Price Analysis

The iPodrom team turned to Pricer24 with a request to transform manual price processing into an efficient and scalable workflow. The Pricer24 platform provided functionality for supplier price analysis, enabling automation of key stages in the process.

To get started with this project, we only needed:

  • a list of the client’s products and
  • a list of categories and brands for monitoring competitor prices.

This was enough to begin setting up the system.

Supplier Price Analysis

As the starting point for price analysis, the client uploaded supplier price lists directly into the Pricer24 system. For each supplier, the system needs to be configured only once by taking these steps:

  • Create a supplier profile.
  • Specify what data is contained in each column of the table.
  • Standardize column formats for further processing.

After this setup, which takes 10–15 minutes per data source, Pricer24 can correctly extract prices from any file regardless of its original format.

iPodrom managers chose to continue updating supplier price lists manually, though Pricer24 supports automatic updates via API.

Product Matching

The next step is matching the client’s products with equivalent items from competitors and suppliers for price comparison. The client chose a hybrid approach: For products listed on Hotline, manual matching was performed by the Pricer24 team. Matching products with the client’s supplier catalogs was handled internally using the platform’s built-in tools.

This approach provided the desired level of automation while also helping to reduce the cost of Pricer24 services.

Competitor Price Parsing from Hotline

Competitor prices for iPodrom on Hotline are automatically updated in Pricer24 once a day, in accordance with the client’s specifications.

Data Aggregation and Visualization

One of Pricer24’s key advantages is its ability to aggregate, structure, and visualize large volumes of pricing data from various sources: supplier price lists, competitor websites, mobile apps, and price aggregators.

Instead of dozens of raw spreadsheets, the client now receives two clear and user-friendly reports:

The Pricer24 team configured these reports in a format that is convenient for the client.

For example, the client uses the Market Analysis Report in two configurations depending on the task:

  1. Updating product availability on the website: The report includes key columns: Product, Code, Minimum Price, and Quantity. If a product is not found in suppliers’ price lists, the system does not record a minimum price. The manager can immediately see a list of such products and take further action.

    2. Analyzing supplier prices within specific categories: This is an aggregated table for in-depth analysis of product groups, allowing the iPodrom team to quickly assess supplier pricing and drill down to individual SKUs.

    Supplier price report by category

The report shows the number of products in stock (in other words, how many SKUs are available for purchase in a given category). Additionally, it is possible to expand a category to view all products it contains, with details for each: name, code, minimum price, and number of offers. Double-clicking on a product cell reveals a list of suppliers offering that item. This allows the manager to quickly make decisions regarding product availability on the website and adjust the pricing strategy.

The Price Comparison Report is used by the client’s managers to assess their competitive position in the current market. The report compares the client’s prices with competitors’ offers on Hotline, enabling the iPodrom manager to quickly identify products that require price adjustments.

In summary, Pricer24’s analytics support informed decision-making by providing a complete view of the market, from supplier purchase prices to competitive positioning.

“Before implementing Pricer24, I spent hours manually reconciling price lists from 24 suppliers — downloading dozens of files, searching for the lowest price, and consolidating everything into a single table. Now I can process 1,000 products in 15–20 minutes, three times a week. The system immediately shows the lowest prices and supplier availability, allowing me to quickly update prices on the website. This has freed up my time, enabled us to expand our product range, and opened up opportunities to scale our sales.”
